Within the 90 Day Fiancé franchise, there have been many cast members who fans point to as serial heartbreakers who care little for the feelings of their partners. Although many of the heartbroken have successfully moved on with their lives, some are still hung up on the individuals who played fast and loose with their hearts.
Many fans feel the entire premise of the franchise is a hotbed for heartbreak, as there certainly are a lot of people out there who are willing to manipulate others to get American citizenship. There have been several 90 Day Fiancé cast members who’ve betrayed their partners in order to get what they want, and viewers generally don’t hesitate to call them out.
Although most cast members leave fans somewhat divided, there are many who have received a strong consensus among viewers of being the source of heartbreak in their relationships. Fans understand that sometimes relationships fall apart, but what they don’t approve of is cast members who show callous disregard for the feelings of the partners they’ve pledged to love.
David Murphey traveled to Ukraine multiple times to meet his love Lana in person, but she blew him off every time. Clearly, Lana was toying with David’s emotions and giving him just enough home to keep him hooked on her. Eventually she did meet up with David during 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days season 4, but their relationship status is still in question. Lana has claimed their relationship was staged for the show, but that could just be a cover for her heartbreaking ways.
On 90 Day Fiancé season 5, viewers, unlike his fiancé Molly Hopkins, were suspicious of Luis from the start. Molly truly believed that Luis loved her, which made it easier for him to manipulate her. 90 Day Fiancé star Luis played mind games with Molly, repeatedly gaslighting her and diverting her focus away from their real issues. Molly eventually came to her senses and kicked Luis out, but not before Luis broke her heart.
Anfisa was a polarizing cast member because while many saw her as a gold digger, the Russian beauty was very up front about what she wanted out of her relationship with Jorge Nava. Before Anfisa came to the U.S., Jorge made extravagant promises that he wasn’t able to deliver. Jorge definitely felt heartbroken when their relationship fell apart, but Anfisa was never anything but honest about her intentions. Since their breakup, Anfisa has finally lost the gold digger label after proving that she can support herself.
Tom dated Darcey Silva over two seasons of 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days, and during that time he seemed to do his very best to trash Darcey’s self esteem. He kept her hanging on, was seeing other women while they were technically still together, and even told Darcey she looked like she had gained weight. Now, Tom is dating another woman, Mariah, but perhaps she will become another broken heart that Tom leaves behind on his way to reality TV fame.
Although Colt tried giving off nice guy vibes at the start of season 6, over time it became clear that he could be just as problematic as his wife Larissa Lima. The two had a contentious marriage and after they broke up, Colt moved on to another Brazilian bombshell, Jess Caroline. However, as Colt shockingly confessed on The Single Life, he cheated on Jess with his friend (and now wife) Vanessa Guerra, and it’s clear that he repeatedly hurt Jess while they were dating.
When Jay married Ashley Martson, he knew that she’d had a rough history with being cheated on in past relationships. However, that didn’t stop him from straying not long after the wedding. The 90 Day Fiancé star hid secrets from Ashley, including his dating profile that he used to meet other women. Though Ashley put up with his behavior for a while, she ultimately divorced him and has moved on to a new, and hopefully better, relationship. But that doesn’t mean she didn’t have her heart broken by her now ex-husband.
Natalie is a very controversial 90 Day Fiancé cast member, because though there are many fans who saw her husband Mike Youngquist’s behavior as problematic, there are just as many fans who sided with Mike and think Natalie is the source of all his problems. Many believe Natalie heartlessly toyed with Mike’s emotions, doing things like giving away all the Christmas presents he gave her one year. The couple is broken up now, but that doesn’t mean fans have forgiven Natalie for breaking Mike’s heart.
When Yolanda Leak first began talking about her online lover Williams on Before the 90 Days, fans (and even Yolanda’s own children) were certain that he was a catfish. Though Williams claimed to be from England, he balked when Yolanda attempted to buy a ticket to visit him. There were stranger events that culminated in extortion before Yolanda finally admitted to herself that Williams wasn’t who he said he was. But just because Williams was an obvious catfish to viewers, doesn’t mean Yolanda didn’t have real feelings for him and real pain when she found out the truth.
On 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way, Brittany dated Yazan Harirah, and their relationship was a terrible idea from the start. Flashy, party-loving Brittany had no real interest in adapting to Yazan’s strict Muslim culture, and it was clear that Brittany’s move to Jordan was a bad idea. Things went from bad to worse and eventually Brittany caused a rift between Yazan and his family. The couple thankfully split up, but that didn’t stop Brittany’s cavalier attitude toward other people’s hearts. On 90 Day: The Single Life, Brittany strung along multiple men at the same time, and she doesn’t seem to feel any remorse. Many fans say the 90 Day Fiancé star is a clout chaser, and her partners matter little to her.
It’s unfortunate to watch 90 Day Fiancé cast members’ hearts get broken, but it’s inevitable in a franchise where individuals take such big risks with their feelings. Most of the cast members who have had their emotions toyed with have moved on to happier relationships, but others are still struggling with the lovers who make their hearts ache.
