Yara Zaya, star of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After?, is afraid to go home to New Orleans following the damage from Hurricane Ida. The major tropical storm led Yara and husband Jovi Dufren to evacuate with their baby, Mylah, to Dallas. The reality stars have been updating fans on social media during their emergency stay in Texas, but the family may prolong their unexpected stay due to conditions back in Louisiana.
Yara announced to her followers that she, Jovi and their baby were safe in a new city shortly before Hurricane Ida made landfall. The star updated fans with smiling shots on Instagram of the couple out and about in downtown Dallas. She revealed the family was staying in a high-rise Dallas hotel to wait out their evacuation. The online boutique owner also let followers know that 90 Day Fiancé fan-favorite and Jovi’s mother Gwen was safe from the storm as well. Through their stay in Dallas, Yara has been keeping busy with outings to the mall, which garnered some criticism from fans for spending excessively during the emergency. In her latest post, Yara shared a major update on the couple’s evacuation and let fans know how she was feeling.
Yara revealed on Instagram she has fears about returning to New Orleans after Hurricane Ida’s destruction. “Enjoying the time in Dallas,” Yara captioned a photo of herself at an outdoor restaurant. The reality star updated fans on her family’s continued evacuation plans. “We will be extending our trip due to road closures and loss of power,” Yara wrote. “I am scared to return home to see the amount of damage this storm has inflicted on the state of Louisiana.” New mother Yara added sweet photos of baby Mylah in her Instagram post to let fans know the whole family was okay. Yara also let fans know she was aware of the conditions back home. “It’s bad here,” one user affected by the storm commented. “I know, I saw video and pictures,” Yara responded. The Ukranian fashionista also provided an update about her husband’s job. “He can’t go to work now,” she wrote back to a user inquiring of Jovi’s work schedule.
Meanwhile, Jovi made an emotional post on Instagram grieving the tragedy in his home state. “Just a week ago I was standing here along the lake near where we live in Louisiana,” he captioned a peaceful photo of himself near the body of water. “This area is now completely underwater, and as many of you have seen the amount of damage to Louisiana has been devastating. My home town took one of the hardest hits.” Jovi further updated fans on the uncertain plans for his family. “We still don’t know how soon we can go back home, what to expect when we arrive or how long we will be without power,” he wrote. The new father vowed to continue to raise awareness of the tragedy online and to respond to community members’ messages during the hard time.
Jovi and Yara have a firm support system of family and fans wishing them well in the aftermath of the storm. With many Louisiana residents left without electricity in Hurricane Ida’s flooding, the Dufren couple was blessed to make it to Dallas with their young baby. Fans will have to stay tuned for more updates about the 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? couple’s return home.
