Bachelor in Paradise alums Ashley Iaconetti and Jared Haibon are opening up a new café in Rhode Island. The couple met during season 2 of the Mexico-based series back in 2015. At first, Jared was not interested, while Ashley was infatuated with him. After a couple of years had passed, Ashley finally came to terms with their relationship being nothing more than friends, so she decided to move on. She began dating Kevin Wendt, who she met on Bachelor Winter Games, and the couple went on to win the series.
After only dating Kevin for a couple of months, Jared expressed his true feelings to Ashley. Once she was able to end her romance with Kevin, she and Jared began a real relationship. Three months after the pair revealed they were dating, Jared proposed to Ashley on the same beach they first met on BIP. A year later, they were married, and now they are expecting their first child together.
According to The Boston Globe, the reality TV couple is opening up a café called Aubrey’s in mid-September of this year. A banner is already up on the storefront, with a small red rose replacing the apostrophe. For those who know both Ashley and Jared, the grammatical swap makes perfect sense. Opening up a café has been a lifelong dream for the 32-year-old, who is a native of Rhode Island, and he is excited about this next chapter with his wife. The couple has been putting in long hours modifying the shop into what Jared hopes will be a “comfy and cozy” gathering spot that is not only original but offers locally sourced food and drinks, such as specialized martinis. “I’ve always really liked this area and the space is ideal,” Jared, who married Ashley in 2019, revealed. “I especially love the stone fireplace. It’s so warm and inviting.”
The publication also spoke about how Jared and his expecting wife recently visited their new business to unpack some boxes and other daunting tasks that were still on the to-do list. Jared added that he wants Aubrey’s, which was named after Ashley’s mother, to have a Cheers vibe. He wants his regular customers to come in and feel like they are at home surrounded by their friends and family. Aubrey’s will also include nods to The Bachelor franchise, such as rose symbols and signature drinks that tie to the dating series. A portion of the proceeds the couple, who met in 2015, made from their café will also be going to charities based in Rhode Island and Ashley’s home state of Virginia. “Owning and operating his own business is what he always wanted to do, and he is putting everything he has into it,” she said, adding that she is very “proud of him.”
Now that Ashley and Jared have moved on from their single lives in Bachelor Nation, they are beginning a new chapter in Rhode Island. They are building a house, have a baby on the way, and now a new business venture. Everything is truly coming up roses for Ashley and Jared.
Bachelor in Paradise airs Mondays at 8 pm EST on ABC.
