Word from publisher Square Enix and developer DeNA confirmed that action RPG Dragon Quest The Adventure of Dai: A Hero’s Bonds will hit mobile devices later this month. The classic Japanese role-playing franchise celebrated its 35th anniversary earlier this year with a livestream, wherein several new titles were announced – 3D puzzler Dragon Quest Keshikeshi included.
The official Dragon Quest Twitter account confirmed a release date for The Adventure of Dai: A Hero’s Bonds. According to the post in question, the mobile Dragon Quest adventure will launch across Android via Google Play and iOS via the App Store in just a few short weeks on September 28. Pre-registration has already gone live on the App Store, with 1.5 million pre-registrations logged. To celebrate this level of pre-launch hype, Square Enix and DeNA plan to reward all players with 3,000 Gems at launch.
A team RPG, this particular Dragon Quest title boasts a three-lane battle system that allows players to devastate enemies with powerful attacks. Fans can also expect to experience a story across two different worlds. The Dragon Tracks story arc takes place in the Adventure of Dai saga. Meanwhile, the Bonding Journey storyline will present series faithful with an all-new storyline from Riku Sanjo, the writer of the original Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai.
