Among all the new enemies released in Genshin Impact 2.0, the Mirror Maiden is one of the most exciting to fight. Also known as a Fatui Mirror Maiden, these elite enemies are new to the game and drop exclusive materials upon defeat.
Mirror Maidens can be found exclusively in Inazuma, and use a Hydro Delusion to command a Hydro Mirror in battle. Here’s how to find them, their abilities, and how to defeat them.
Mirror Maidens are easy to spot in Genshin Impact. They appear as tall women decked in blue and surrounded by mirrors, making them distinct from any other enemy in the game. They can be found around the central and northern areas of Narukami Island, in certain spots in the northern region of Yashiori Island, and in the central region of Kannazuka.
With their Hydro Delusion ability, Mirror Maidens in Genshin Impact fight using Hydro powers. They have the ability to teleport via their Hydro Mirror. Here are all the Mirror Maiden’s abilities, and what they do:
Waterwheels: Summons three lines of water that form mirror shards on the ground. These shards spin rapidly with water, dealing burst Hydro damage.
Hydro Bullets: Shoots up to three Hydro Bullets at the player, dealing Hydro damage.
Ripple Rain: Shoots water into the air that falls down in three splashes, dealing Hydro damage.
Glass Cage: Summons small mirror shards around the player, trapping the player and dealing low Hydro Damage.
Laser Zone: Summons three Hydro Bullets that orbit around the Mirror Maiden and player. Mirrors appear to reflect a laser that deals AoE Hydro damage, followed by a second burst of Hydro damage.
Mirror Portal: Summons a mirror that closes behind the Mirror Maiden, transporting her somewhere around the area.
Many of the Fatui Mirror Maiden’s attacks apply the Refraction status. This effect is indicated by four small mirror shards on the character. When the player is affected by this, the Mirror Maiden is able to enter the Polarization state, which allows her to use the majority of her abilities. The Mirror Maiden can only use Mirror Portal, Waterwheels, and Hydro Bullets when she is not in the Polarization state.
As a Hydro enemy, Pyro and Cryo characters work best for fighting the Mirror Maiden. Cryo characters allow the Maiden to be frozen consistently, preventing her from being able to land attacks. Pyro characters will deal the most damage and can use the Vaporize Reaction to deal additional damage.
The Refraction debuff can also be removed by Pyro or Anemo characters. Anemo characters like Kazuha or Venti with good mobility are also great for dodging a Mirror Maiden’s attacks and avoiding the Glass Cage.
Along with various 3- and 4-Star artifact sets, Mirror Maidens also drop Prisms. Dismal, Crystal, and Polarizing Prisms are items exclusive to the Mirror Maiden and can be used as weapon ascension materials. These Prisms are necessary for leveling up some of Inazuma’s best new weapons (Hakushin Ring, Hamayumi, and Thundering Pulse). Thus, players looking to build characters with these weapons should make sure they’re farming Mirror Maidens whenever they can.
Genshin Impact is available now on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, PC, and Mobile.
