Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino confirmed that Jersey Shore: Family Vacation has been renewed for four more seasons. The roommates returned for the spinoff series in 2019. Now, the fourth season of the show just finished airing last week.
The longtime friends turned family have already begun filming for season 5. In August, the cast posted photos from their day of filming at Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi’s house. Nicole had taken some time away from the show to focus on her family following the drama that transpired at Angelina’s Pivarnick’s wedding in season 3. She has since returned to filming alongside her roommates; however, Nicole does not participate in filming that requires her to be away from her kids for numerous days at a time.
It looks like Jersey Shore: Family Vacation will be around for a long time. Mike, along with his wife Lauren Sorrentino, revealed on their podcast, Here’s The Stitch, that the show has been renewed for four more seasons. As long as each season does well with ratings, the cast will film for seasons 5-8 in the upcoming years. Mike explained that although the show has been renewed for four seasons, it must do well in season 5 to have a season 6 and beyond. The cast has been filming for season 5 on and off for the last two to three months. As for the most recent season of the show, Jersey Shore: Family Vacation was number 1 in their Thursday night time slot. Mike also confirmed that the birth of his and Lauren’s son Roman Reign, as well as the birth of Deena Cortese’s youngest son Cameron, will be seen on the new season as well as other life milestones for the cast.
Both Mike and Lauren are excited to continue filming for the show. Fans always question how long the show will be around. Mike explained that the cast will keep filming for as long as they are allowed. He even joked that they are 20 years younger than the casts of The Real Housewives, implying they still have plenty of years left of filming in them. Mike and Lauren love to watch the cast members evolve and grow over the years as they all begin new chapters of their lives. Lauren even noted that no other show has portrayed this many years of change and growth. As for who will be seen on the new seasons, a majority of the cast will in fact be returning. Mike confirmed that Nicole is “almost full time” again. He is not sure if Ronnie Ortiz Magro will in fact be making a return; however, Ronnie claims he will return to Jersey Shore: Family Vacation before season 5 filming wraps. Mike even teased a potential return from Sammi “Sweetheart” Giancola. He did clarify that nothing has been confirmed. This is just what he has read online.
Everyone’s favorite group of roommates are not going anywhere any time soon. Since Mike is known to spill secrets, it is unknown if he was suppose to share this information with fans. It has already been confirmed and revealed that the show would be returning for season 5; however, prior to Mike’s podcast, fans were not aware that the show was renewed for four more seasons.
Jersey Shore: Family Vacation airs Thursdays at 8pm EST on MTV.
