The Myling is a new frightening ghost in Phasmophobia classified not only for its vocally dynamic behavior but also its stealthy silence when hunting players. The Myling was introduced in Phasmophobia‘s latest Exposition Update, along with the Goryo ghost. Players will need to have their wits about them with ears wide open when dealing with this sneaky spirit.
Phasmophobia‘s Parabolic Microphone is the optimal equipment to use when searching for a Myling, as it can detect paranormal noises a player might otherwise miss. However, as active as Mylings are with making a ghostly racket, players need to be prepared to run if things become dangerously quiet. Unlike other ghosts, this apparition prefers to hunt unexpecting victims silently, making it extra challenging (and terrifying) for players to realize they’re being chased. Read on to learn some tips and tricks for dealing with the Myling in Phasmophobia.
To find the evidence for a Myling within a haunted room in Phasmophobia, players will need the following equipment: an EMF Reader to pick up paranormal emissions, a UV light or glowstick to find Fingerprints, a Parabolic Microphone to detect the Myling’s vocal activity, and finally a Ghost Writing Book. Mylings are noticeably noisier compared to other ghosts during the first few minutes of a search. Use the EMF Reader and microphone to get a picture of which room(s) the spirit is most active in. Finding Fingerprint Evidence on doors or light switches will confirm if the Myling is nearby. Place a writing book on the floor of the room and wait. If the specter interacts with the book, the player can then be confident that their target is a Myling.
While players can use Phasmophobia‘s new DOTS Projector to watch for paranormal movement from the van, the device isn’t needed if the ghost is a Myling. The objective when dealing with Mylings is to continue checking on the Parabolic Microphone and listening closely to the ghost’s noises. If the noises start to die down, it could mean the Myling is about hunt the player.
Keep in mind that Phasmophobia‘s scary ghosts are smarter than one might expect. If the player is silently chased by a Myling, running to the nearest hiding spot would be a safe choice. However, Mylings and any other ghosts in Phasmophobia can find a player if they fail to toggle (or turn off) their electrical equipment. Remember to keep quiet in-game and turn off any devices when hiding; otherwise, the ghost hunt might reach an unfortunate end.
