Erika Jayne from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is responding to recent death threats she has received concerning her husband’s legal case and her possible involvement. Things have not been going well for Erika this season, as many are questioning whether or not she had knowledge of her husband’s crimes. Erika’s husband, famed lawyer Tom Girardi, has been accused of stealing a substantial amount of money from victims of a plane crash he represented in a lawsuit against Boeing. On the show, Erika is portraying herself as being completely unaware of her husband’s actions. However, fans have been a little confused about the different stories she has been telling. It seems as though her fellow cast members are also confused about the stories she’s telling, as they began questioning her in a recent episode.
The confusion surrounding how much Erika knew, and when she found out, was deepened when news broke that Erika received $25 million from Tom’s firm. The new claims say the money was transferred from Tom’s firm to EJ Global LLC, of which Erika is the sole owner. On the show, fellow housewife Sutton Stracke brought up the fact that anyone who has an LLC, which most housewives do, know that if money ends up in the LLC, the owner is responsible for that money. The papers filed also claimed that Erika is the one who approved the transfer into her LLC. It is alleged that Erika used this money to pay for her expansive glam squad and her many assistants. She apparently spent all this money using her American Express credit card.
The questions surrounding Erika’s involvement have taken a dangerous turn, as she is now responding to death threats on social media. According to US Weekly, Erika received two death threats on Instagram in response to her claims she had no knowledge of Tom’s actions. Under an Instagram post reporting on the news that Erika received $25 million from Tom’s firm, someone commented with a death threat after hearing about her alleged role in the embezzlement scandal. Upon seeing the comment, Erika posted a screenshot of the post on her feed, having circled the death threat. In the caption, she pointed out the threat to those who missed it and asked fans to stop threatening to cause her harm.
A few hours after the initial death threat, Erika shared that these are not the only threats she has received from this person. She shared screenshots of messages the person sent to her DMs, further threatening her life. The user said Erika should be feeling scared and that, as this season of RHOBH continues, she should become more and more scared. The message ended with the user essentially telling Erika she shouldn’t go out in public because she has a target on her back. Erika’s publicist, Jack Ketsoyan, responded to these threats, calling the commenter a coward and claiming they would never be brave enough to say these things to Erika’s face rather than from behind a computer screen. He reminded the user that karma will come around to get them in the future and then posted more than a few middle finger emoji.
There are still a lot of questions around whether or not Erika had any prior knowledge of her husband’s crime. It will be interesting to see how her actions on the show affect her standing with the prosecutors and those who are still investigating the case. If fans are questioning the stories Erika is telling on the show, it seems likely the people in charge of the case are doing so as well. Should fans of her brace themselves for charges against her? Only time will tell what is in store for Erika.
