Karen Huger from The Real Housewives of Potomac is keeping her sense of humor about the drama with her business competitor, Wendy Osefo. The latest RHOP episode revealed that the two Potomac ladies may be stepping on each other’s toes as entrepreneurs. OG Housewife Karen is the CEO of La’Dame, a fragrance line that recently expanded to sell luxury wigs. Wendy, a professor and political commentator, recently reached out to Karen to tap her successful business mind for help on her upcoming candle line.
Wendy told Karen during a meeting she has plans to become the Black Martha Stewart with her brand, Onyi Home Essentials. Karen encouraged Wendy to pursue the venture in the candle business but seemingly left out the detail that the Grand Dame herself had plans to peddle candles too. In the latest episode of RHOP, Karen announced La’Dame will be expanding to include candles and aromatherapy during her acceptance speech as ambassador of Surry County, Virginia. “I’m a bit confused,” Wendy said in her confessional. “She did not mention her candle line when I was at her house.” Karen went on to say in her confessional the meeting wasn’t about La’Dame and explained the difference between the two products. “The La’Dame candle is a three-wick candle, and hers is a one-wick candle,” Karen said. “So mine can cover the area of a larger space, if you will.”
Karen poked fun at her own comment in an Instagram post, borrowing a meme created by @realityguy. Karen shared the image, which reimagines a John Wick movie poster with the title One Wick, in reference to Wendy’s product. A glamour shot of Karen replaces Keanu Reeves’ face as John Wick points a gun toward the viewers. Karen captioned the post with a crying laughing emoji, writing, “But honestly, 1-wick, 3-wick, 5-wick…I wish everyone nothing but success.”
Karen addressed the drama directly in a separate post and claimed Wendy forgot about the La’Dame candle expansion. “The truth is…everyone knew I was coming out with a home fragrance candle and gift set, doesn’t surprise me at all that Wendy forgot but that’s ok,” Karen wrote. “Wendy came to biz advice and I will always be there to support a sister!” She continued, writing that La’Dame began “locked and loaded“ with a powerful business plan. “This is a multi billion dollar industry; there is room at the table for all of us,” Karen wrote. “By chance if you don’t have a seat at the table I’ll get one for you. There is so much more – Buckle Up, are you ready? I am!“
Karen isn’t the only RHOP housewife stealing Wendy’s candle thunder. Mia Thornton, who started her freshman season on the series in a feud with Wendy, announced a line of candles with her brand, Amilleon London. As Karen put it, there’s room at the table for all of the Real Housewives of Potomac ladies to explore the home goods business.
The Real Housewives of Potomac airs Sundays at 8pm on Bravo.
