The Real Housewives of New York turned a transformative leaf in season 13 when it added the franchise’s first Black cast member, Eboni K. Williams, to its roster. Ever since Eboni’s start on the show in season 13, fans have loved what she brings to the table, but there’s a lot about her they may not know. There’s a lot of depth to Eboni that made her the icon that she is today. From being a co-host on Fox News and writing a book, she has a long CV of accomplishments that predate her time as a Real Housewives cast member.

Eboni’s is a familiar face to many even outside of the Real Housewives fandom. For new Real Housewives of New York fans who haven’t seen Eboni prior to Bravo, she is a longtime host and broadcaster with an impressive resume to boot. According to her own website, Eboni has worked on CBS News, FOX News Channel and HLN/CNN. In addition to her work on those networks, Eboni has also dabbled in professional sports broadcasting as a correspondent for Fox Sports and the NFL Network.
8 She’s An Author
Eboni is on her way to being one of the wealthiest Real Housewives cast members. Not only was she a host and correspondent, but she’s also an author. In 2017, Eboni released Pretty Powerful: Appearance, Substance, and Success.
In the book, Eboni touches on the effects of beauty in terms of a person’s career. According to the Amazon description, women have been told that “being ‘pretty’ comes at the expense of being taken seriously and that being ‘pretty’ and being capable are mutually exclusive.” Eboni interview other famous women who have been through similar situations in business and what their advice is.
7 Eboni Is Incredibly Educated
Earlier in season 13, Eboni got into an argument with the other women when the topic of education was brought up. Eboni said that she was the most educated one at the table, and some of the others felt insulted. However, in terms of literal education, no one can compare to Eboni on RHONY, and she’s one of the most intelligent Real Housewives cast members.
Essence noted that Eboni was able to graduate high school early and attended college (The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill) at the young age of 16. After getting her degress in communications and African-American studies, she furthered her education at Loyola University New Orleans College of Law where she received her Juris Doctor degree and became an attorney.
6 She’s Never Been Married, But Was Engaged
Although Eboni is single this season on RHONY, she was recently in a serious relationship. Reality Blurb wrote that Eboni and her ex-fiancé, Steven Glenn, were together and engaged for four years. As a CFO of a private equity firm, Steven and Eboni were the ultimate power couple.
However, the two split at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic when they quarantined separately. And while there have been plenty of solid relationships on RHONY, Eboni doesn’t need a partner to shine on her own.
5 Fans Can Hear Eboni’s Point Of View On Her Podcast
In October of 2020, Eboni created her own podcast, Holding Court With Eboni K. Williams, to shed light on “news-making cases” that are in the spotlight week after week. As an attorney, Eboni talks about different cases from a legal standpoint and an empathetic standpoint. She raises great points while also expressing her personal feelings on various matters. For Bravo fans, this is a podcast that could shed more light on Eboni’s insight and agenda.
4 She’s The Host And Eexecutive Producer Of A Popular Show
Revolt TV is a cable network that was created by Sean “Diddy” Combs. A part of his network is a show called Revolt Black News that is hosted and executively produced by Eboni K. Williams. Afro Tech wrote that the show focuses on important topics in the world from “the Black perspective.” Eboni’s dedication to her message is what’s going to make her one of the most beloved cast members of the Real Housewives franchise. As a new cast member, she doesn’t back down but stands her ground.
3 Eboni Has Dabbled In Acting
Aside from starring in season 13 of Real Housewives of New York, Eboni has also dabbled in acting in the past. She’s not an actress by trade, but she has four acting credits to her name. According to her IMDb page, Eboni starred as Chloe Robinson in a 2009 short called Mean Mr. Greene. She was also in the TV documentary, 1,000 Ways to Die in 2011, the film Against the Grain in 2012, and she played Paula Lloyd in 2017’s Crossing Thresholds.
2 There’s Been A Small Amount Of Drama Around Her Law Degree
Ramona Singer will never live down season 13. She and Eboni have been battling throughout the series on a variety of political events and humanitarian issues, to the point where Ramona is now the villain. But Ramona isn’t alone, Eboni has also brought drama outside of the show.
Page Six noted that Eboni is actually not legally allowed to practice law because her law license was suspended. However, Eboni cleared the air before rumors began swirling about her life as an attorney. In a statement, Eboni wrote that she has not “lived or practiced law in North Carolina since 2011,” and simply stopped paying her annual dues. Once she moved to New York City, she knew she wasn’t going to practice. Although she loves the law, she has “chosen to voluntarily not to pay those assessments.”
1 She Gave Back After Hurricane Katrina
Fans love watching scenes with Eboni in them because she always seems to know what to say in the heat of an argument. Her calmness under pressure is one of her best attributes, and this could be because of her past work. While attending Loyola University New Orleans College of Law, she remained in Louisana to help the community after Hurricane Katrina, according to Revolt. She helped those directly affected by the hurricane as a law student and assisted the Louisiana Attorney General’s Office.
