Pre-orders for Pokémon Legends: Arceus are live, and they come with special bonus items. These Pokémon Legends: Arceus pre-order bonuses range from digital add-ons to physical merchandise, depending on where they’re ordered from.
While it’s possible the game will have digital distributions of Legendary or Mythical Pokémon during its life, Legends: Arceus won’t have any special creatures being given away as early adopter or pre-order bonuses – or, at least, none have been announced yet. Instead, those who purchase the game early will have access to an alternate outfit for the protagonist and, if pre-ordered from the right store, some extra Poké Balls that are likely to make the early stages of the journey easier.
The August 2021 Pokémon Presents showcase revealed new information about Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl and Pokémon Legends: Arceus, including brand-new Pokémon and regional variants for the latter. Once the show concluded, Nintendo eShop pre-orders for all three games went live, along with their pre-order and early adopter bonus information.
Those who purchase Pokémon Legends: Arceus physically or digitally will be able to claim a Hisuian Growlithe Kimono Set outfit as an early adopter bonus. This can be received through the Mystery Gift function in-game and will be available until May 9, 2022. The outfit is based on the new Hisuian Growlithe Pokémon, a regional form debuting in Legends: Arceus. Those who pre-order the digital version of Pokémon Legends: Arceus from the eShop will also receive thirty Heavy Balls. These are “more effective at catching Pokémon that haven’t yet noticed you,” but they don’t travel as far as regular Poké Balls, so players will need to get close to the Pokémon they’re trying to catch. Users will have until May 9, 2022, to claim the code.
As an additional bonus, those who pre-order Pokémon Legends: Arceus from the official Pokémon Center website will receive an Arceus Sitting Cuties Pokémon plush doll, though no photos of it are available yet. So far, the Sitting Cuties plush line features palm-sized versions of every single Pokémon from the first three generations, and it’s expected to expand to Gen 4 and beyond. The Arceus plush is only available while stocks last, and it may arrive at a later date than the game itself. While perhaps not exactly the cutest Pokémon, this is Arceus’ first time headlining a game; who are fans to refuse the god of Pokémon, even as a plushie?
Pokémon Legends: Arceus will be released for Nintendo Switch on January 28, 2022.
